'Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time' Has Been Announced for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
Check out the new trailer.
Following earlier reports of an official announcement, developer Toys for Bob, previously known for remaking the three classic Crash Bandicoot games, will be making a new fourth title.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time follows up on the original three games for the PlayStation initially developed by Naughty Dog, disregarding all titles after made from other studios. “Neo Cortex and Dr. N. Tropy are now free from their penitentiary, and it’s up to Crash, Coco, and friends to go across time and space to stop these three from not only taking over the world, but the entire multiverse,” according to a PlayStation Blog post.
The title will take on an updated look from the completely overhauled look Toys for Bob introduced for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy while also retaining the 3D platforming the games are known for. The upcoming title will also introduce new gameplay mechanics as well as the switch between Modern and Retro modes. “One mode tailored to those seeking that old school platforming vibe, while the other is a little more forgiving, but no less difficult to master,” the blog post continues.
Crash and Coco are playable and function similarly as they always have, but the title will be introducing new Quantum Masks that gives players the ability to alter reality and advance through levels.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will be available for $59.99 USD on October 2 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
