Stray Rats and New Balance Ready Release of Collaborative 827
Combining luxe brown suede with 3M, camouflage and technical retro elements.
Julian Consuegra‘s New York-based imprint Stray Rats and New Balance have teamed up on the 827, delivering a luxe take on the retro sneaker.
This pair follows on from Stray Rats’ Joker-inspired 990v3 “ALTERNATE 2” offering that released last May, and delivers a much more reserved colorway than previous collaborations. The 827 in question was previously teased by Consuegra, and shows a dark hazel brown suede and mesh upper work alongside elements such as brown and green webbing tape, 3M-equipped camouflage, and even touches of purple and red which find themselves highlighting the “N” emblem on the side.
A khaki green, ABZORB-equipped sole unit sets off the upper and compliments the camouflage moments found around the sneaker. The pair is rounded off with a set of red rope laces, red and purple “N” embroidery on the vamp, 3M eyelets, and a myriad of black cut-outs that match the black outsole.
Stray Rats’ New Balance 827 is set to release in limited numbers on May 15 for $156 USD at New Balance retailers such as Goodhood. Take a closer look at the pair above.
