Roy Woods Drops Empathetic New Single "I Feel It"
Taken from his upcoming project, ‘Dem Times.’
Roy Woods announced his upcoming album Dem Times with the release of his new single, “I Feel It.” The Brampton-born artist expresses deep empathy in a number of relationships while exhibiting a passionate vocal display, and the accompanying visual sees the struggles of arguing with a partner in quarantine.
“‘I Feel It’ was a song made in a confusing time in life where a lot of transitions were happening to me and my close friends,” Woods said in a statement. Everybody goes through dark periods in their lives, but a lot of times we don’t want anyone to know, so we hide behind our pain with smiles and laughter. Regardless of how much happiness we may have, unfixed pain always remains. With this song, I wanted fans to know that I go through things just like them. I feel the pain too.”
Dem Times was created in Los Angeles and Toronto and is billed as the culmination of the momentum Woods has created around himself in the past year. The six-track project will include a batch of new tracks and is set to drop May 15 via OVO Sound.
