Stray Rats and New Balance are reuniting once again for another bold collaboration. Rats founder Julian Consuegra teased via Instagram a toasty brown iteration of the classic 827 silhouette. This follows the Joker-inspired 990v3 “ALTERNATE 2” released back in May last year.

Most of the shoe is dominated by a dark hazel brown palette, accentuated by mesh and delicate pigskin suede. For a vivid contrast, the shoe has been given bright infrared-toned laces alongside subtle hits of green appearing around the eyelet panels and forefoot. A large double-stacked “N” logo is placed at the sidewalls, set in Stary Rats’ thematic purple color, framed by thin red outlines. Other details include 3M highlights at the eyelets and a tiny pink “N” motif at the throat line. All of these features sit atop an olive midsole, equipped ABZORB cushioning technology for optimal balance and support.

Though no exact details for the release of the sneakers have been revealed yet, Consuegra’s Instagram post hints at a possible drop in May.
