Riot Games Announces Official Release Date for Free-to-Play FPS 'Valorant'
Existing accounts in closed beta will be reset.
After a whole month in closed beta, Riot Games‘ latest creation Valorant has finally received an official release date.
Scheduled to drop June 2, Valorant is a new character-based first-person-shooter from Riot Games, most commonly known for its mega-hit MOBA title League of Legends. Mixing tactical shooting gameplay with various character choices and unique skills, many have described the game to be somewhat a combination of Valve’s Counter Strike: Global Offensive and Blizzard’s Overwatch, two beloved titles in the genre. With the closed beta coming to an end, Riot Games will be resetting all existing accounts attached to the game, so unfortunately those currently playing will have their stats erased. However, along with its official launch, the company will also be making available new patch content, so there’s definitely something to look forward to.
