Nike Sportswear‘s spring of Spiridon is continuing with two new makeups of the Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2: “Team Red” and “Varsity Royal.” Following up clean in-line colorways and Stüssy collaborations alike, each style in this sporty duo ramps up its color palette to maximum effect.

Designed by the legendary Steven Smith, the Spiridon Cage 2 made its debut in the early ’00s and was crafted to offer a mix of lightweight support and responsive cushioning. Though sneaker tech has since evolved past its level, these same characteristics now make this Spiridon an appealing choice for lifestyle wear — a casual nod to the performance builds of a bygone era.

“Team Red” dresses its mesh upper and sleek synthetic overlays in a sultry red tone, with vibrant accents provided by lemon Swooshes, eyestays and heel/tongue badges. More rich red appears on the TPU cage that holds the heel’s signature Zoom bag, and white Phylite foam midsoles offer light contrast. Meanwhile, “Varsity Royal” mixes blue and silver in equal measures on its top half. Branding is done up in blue, and the heel cage takes on a light silver tone that contrasts with the white midsoles and laces to round off the look.

The Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 “Team Red” and “Varsity Royal” will release via Nike SNKRS Japan and Nike HK on June 4, and likely arrive at US stockists shortly thereafter. The retail price for each is set at $140 USD.
