NEIGHBORHOOD and Shaka Team up for Boldly-Branded Hiker Sandals
Available in “Black” and “Olive Drab.”
NEIGHBORHOOD and Shaka have teamed up for a two-pack of boldly embellished takes on the Hiker sandal. Following closely in the footsteps of Shaka’s vibrant SS20 sandal lineup, this vivid duo combines signature Japanese branding with revamped South African footwear style.
Arriving in “Black” and “Olive Drab” colorways, each style features five horizontal straps crossing over the foot — the top two of which are adjustable — and one vertical strap that runs all the way to the collar. A three-piece assemblage around the ankle and heel brings everything together. All of these pieces are crafted from woven nylon and coated in a copious dose of NEIGHBORHOOD branding, ranging from traditional spell-out graphics to technical text hits, trademark graphics and even lined detaling. The “Black” presents these graphics in a starkly-contrasting white, while “Olive Drab” uses a more toned-down black to match its black trim.
EVA foam footbeds are dressed in black, and feature debossed Shaka branding on the heel. The outsole equips an artfully-ridged traction pattern that adds creeper shoe-like texture to the midsole’s heel and forefoot to complete the look.
A release date for the NEIGHBORHOOD x Shaka Hiker sandals has yet to be announced, but each pair is set to release on the NEIGHBORHOOD webstore, retailing for ¥14,000 JPY (approximately $131 USD).
