Mozzy Gives Back to Community in "The Homies Wanna Know" Music Video
Before taking a few members for a spin in his Rolls-Royce.
After dropping his fifth studio album Beyond Bulletproof last week, Sacramento rapper Mozzy has released visuals for the song “The Homies Wanna Know” from off the 13-track project. In the Dom Stills-directed video, Mozzy gives back to his community and rides around the neighborhood with individuals who represent the “sometimes forgotten, silenced and overlooked.”
Like other tracks on Beyond Bulletproof, “The Homies Wanna Know” shares Mozzy’s introspective narratives on his own family and life in Sacramento. The video opens on a community member telling someone on the phone, “It’s live right now… camera’s rolling and everything,” before showing a crowded street bustling with action. Mozzy helps distribute items from dozens of boxes, before taking a few members for a spin in his Rolls-Royce convertible and grabbing a meal together.
“Granny left a voicemail I’ll never delete/She say she proud, least I know she forever at peace,” Mozzy raps. “Lookin’ out for Zoe kids, whatever they need/I treat ‘em like my own kids since Brody deceased.” “Self-made when you did it with no assistance,” he continues. “Granny used to tell me, ‘You got it, baby, you gifted.’”
