Lacoste FW20 Realizes Austere Athleticism
An expansive lookbook series expanding the French brand’s design ethos.

For Fall/Winter 2020 Lacoste is channeling its legacy of French elegance, refining the label’s signature sportswear staples by way of creative director Louise Trotter‘s progressive styling. Minimalist layering pieces, sophisticated shapes and understated leather accessories add a new layer of depth to the brand’s multi-part lookbook series.
In-Store Only, New Horizons, Wrap Me Up and A Nature’s Gift are the four chapters that divide the expansive collection, further distinguished by three design categories (Fashion Aspirer, Smart Chic and Urban Sport) which can each be mixed and matched with ease. Demonstrated on the runway earlier this year, Lacoste’s new lease on life is informed by a blend of effortless essentials, with wool coats, furry vests, boxy pullovers and cropped slacks — nearly all realized in grey, green, navy, white or beige — providing the versatile base for the athletic-leaning items.
With color-blocked puffer jackets, breathable track pants and sporty anoraks complement a bevy of Lacoste’s signature polo shirts, emblazoned with iconic crocodile branding and updated logos alike. Elsewhere, branded caps, slouchy corduroy pants and leather tennis sneakers reinforce the on- and off-court aesthetic, elevated by ribbed knitwear, suave wool blazers and minimalist leather bags.
Expect Fall/Winter 2020 to hit Lacoste’s web store and boutiques later this year.
