HAIM Fight for Love in New Track "Don't Wanna"
From off their upcoming album ‘Women in Music Pt. III.’
HAIM has shared a new track, titled “Don’t Wanna,” off of their forthcoming album Women in Music Pt. III. All three of the sisters wrote the song with former Vampire Weekend multi-instrumentalist and frequent collaborator Rostam Batmangli. The upbeat track is packed with guitar riffs and deep drum beats, layered with Haim’s ethereal vocals.
“Always thought I’d see it coming/But I don’t,” Haim sings. “Got to leave the engine running/In the front seat.” The song details the way in which lovers will try to steady their relationship, no matter how hard the circumstances are. “But we both have nights/Waking up in strangers’ beds,” she continues in the chorus. “I don’t wanna, don’t wanna/I don’t wanna give up yet.”
The sisters/bandmate’s third studio album will follow Something to Tell You (2017) and Days Are Gone (2013). Originally set to release April 24, the record will arrive on June 26 via Columbia Records “due to everything that is going on with COVID-19 and the changing nature of travel policies and quarantines across the world,” the trio wrote. Women in Music Pt. III includes previously released tracks “Summer Girl,” “Hallelujah,” “I Know Alone” and “The Steps.”
“Don’t Wanna” is out now on all streaming platforms. Stay tuned for more releases from HAIM and expect Women in Music Pt. III to drop next month.
