Disclosure Announce New Album 'ENERGY' and Share Music Video
The Lawrence brothers will release their new project this August.
GRAMMY-nominated producing duo Disclosure has announced their new album ENERGY, slated to release August 28 via Capitol Records. Brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence also shared the title track’s new music video earlier today marking the first time in over a half-decade that they’ve released an official visual.
The Kid Studio-directed offering is a motivational anthem full of surreal workout regiments, some seriously comical facial expressions and a group scientific experiment gone wrong. As for the track, Disclosure took inspiration from Brazilian rhythms and paired the upbeat tempo with samples of Eric Thomas, the hip-hop preacher from the group’s 2013 “When A Fire Starts To Burn”. The album’s first song follows the group’s impromptu Ecstasy EP and their “Know Your Worth” collaborative single with Khalid (and the subsequent remix that tapped rising Nigerian artists Davido and TEMS).
“It’s such a privileged lane that we’ve found ourselves in,” Guy Lawrence said of the upcoming project in a recent press statement. “It’s great that we can play to 20,000 people and then go and play a dark, sweaty rave. We just want the most amount of people to have the most amount of enjoyment. We can’t wait to do it again and again when the time comes.”
ENERGY will utilize a star-studded tracklist to its advantage with Mick Jenkins, Channel Tres, Aminé, slowthai, and Common making appearances. Kelis, Fatoumata Diawara, Kehlani and Syd will also contribute. You can check out the full tracklist below.
