UNDEFEATED and Nike May Be Working on More Air Max 97s
Three collaborative colorways have been reported to release this holiday season.
Long-time partners UNDEFEATED and Nike Sportswear are reportedly working on three new Air Max 97s for the 2020 holiday season. Following up 2017’s duo of Gucci-inspired styles and the “Flight Jacket”-themed pair that nearly caused a riot upon its release, this fresh trifecta is set to continue UNDEFEATED’s storied collaborative legacy.
According to noted leaker account py_rates, these new UNDEFEATED Air Max 97s will boast “Sail/White-Aero Blue-Midwest Gold,” “Black/Volt-Militia Green-White” and “Militia Green/Black-Orange Blaze-White” colorways. No official images are available yet, but the mockups pictured in the Instagram post above give some indication what the styles may look like. In line with past models, the retail price will supposedly be set at $180 USD.
In between the last batch of 97s and these forthcoming offerings, UNDEFEATED and Nike have been quite busy as well. The dynamic duo has released multiple takes on the Air Max 90 inspired by everything from motorcycle jackets to the ’90s NYC scene’s adoption of technical outerwear, as well as several special iterations of Kobe Bryant‘s Kobe 1 Protro and Kobe 4 Protro.
More information about this trifecta of collaborative drops will likely surface in the coming months, so in the meantime check out the latest installment of our weekly Best Footwear Drops series.
