McDonald's Announces Free "Thank You Meals" for Healthcare Workers
Served for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the famous Happy Meal box.
As restaurants around the globe attempt to cope with the disruption of coronavirus, the burden falls on major chains to give back to their communities. As such, McDonald’s has introduced a new initiative dubbed “Thank You Meals,” intended to lift some burden from overworked medical professionals.
Beginning April 22 and running through May 5, participating McDonald’s franchises will offer free breakfast, lunch or dinner meals to healthcare workers that present their work badges. The complete meals include an Egg McMuffin, Chicken McGriddle or Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit for breakfast (complete with any size of drink and hash browns) or a Double Cheeseburger, 6-Piece Chicken McNugget, or Filet-O-Fish (with any size of drink and a small fry).
“We have been inspired by the way our franchisees have been going above and beyond to support their local communities throughout this trying time,” continued Joe Erlinger, President or McDonald’s USA in the statement. “I couldn’t be more proud of how our company, franchisees and supplier partners have come together to give back to those who are working tirelessly for our country. That is truly our McDonald’s system at its best.”
Vist the McDonald’s website for more information on the Thank You Meals initiative and full details. Each free meal will come packaged inside the company’s signature Happy Meal box, “in the hopes of bringing a smile along with delicious food,” McDonald’s explained in a statement.
Elsewhere, other charitable programs are in the works, including FaZe Clan and NFL’s “Draft-a-Thon.”
