Back in 2016, Topo Designs and American footwear company Danner crafted a traditional two-piece release using materials like leather, heavy-duty duck canvas and green Cordura nylon. This time, the pair have joined forces once again for a playful collaboration centered around Danner’s signature Trail 2650. Inspired by retro mountain sport style and the diverse terrain found along the 2650-mile Pacific Crest Trail, the hiker silhouette receives a multi-color treatment for a stylish yet functional footwear option.
Merging mountain-ready materials with bold styling, the updated Trail 2650 is a lightweight and breathable option for the spring and summer months. Vibrant blue, purple and red suede and textile panels wrap around the upper — referencing both Topo Design’s signature style and 90’s aesthetics — accompanied by a mesh lining and open-cell OrthoLite footbed. For maximum support and comfort, an EXO heel system locks the heel in place for a snug fit, while an external heel counter offers greater stability.
Further emphasizing the versatility and durability of the updated hiker, a Vibram sole with Megagrip technology emphasizes the outdoor-inspired theme with its speckled pattern, and increases grip on wet and dry surfaces. Elsewhere, a trailguard platform provides torsional strength with an exposed TPU shank, offering enhanced athletic performance.
