Returning from the introduction of its new King Platinum Lazertouch football boot, PUMA has now unveiled the latest colorway of its new PUMA Hoops silhouette, the Sky Modern. Initially debuting on Kyle Kuzma’s feet last month at NBA All-Star Weekend, the latest iteration of the reenvisioned ’80s court-gripper is a festive “Easter” iteration that takes note of the holiday’s festivities just as it does retro basketball sneakers.
Keeping the style big just as the players did in the ‘80s and ‘90s did with their head-turning flair, these high-top sneakers feature a variety of technological twists from the footwear giant. Cushioning-wise, the shoe comes stock with a full-length ProFoam midsole, PUMA’s proprietary high rebound EVA foam that allows for explosive energy return. For on-the-court grip, PUMA has supplied a full coverage rubber outsole featuring its high abrasion, sticky rubber compound to help in mandating quick cuts and spot-up plays.
On the shoe’s colorful upper, premium knit mesh in “Milky Blue” has been supplied on the vamp, with suede and leather overlays offering up a stylish-yet-breathable combo. Accenting hits on the toebox come in yellow and pink, bringing some colorful contrasts to the shoe. The iteration is finally finished by a darker shade of blue on the shoe’s leather tongue, with the same color gracing the stiff TPU heel counter.
