ASICS Launches Three New Silhouettes With Revolutionary Technology
A long-distance runner, a volleyball shoe, and a spikeless track shoe.

Always striving to help athletes improve and push their limits, Japanese footwear company ASICS has now launched three new high-tech silhouettes that greatly enhance performance through innovation. The three cover the areas of long-distance running, volleyball, and track sprinting.
First up is the METARACER, hailed by the brand as its “most advanced long-distance racing shoe yet.” Using its GUIDESOLE™ technology and a carbon plate, the sneaker is able to provide ample stability while reducing the load on a runner’s calf muscle by up to 20 percent via its improved toe-spring shape, greatly increasing energy efficiency. Its ENGINEERED MESH upper keeps things cool and breathable, and its FLYTEFOAM™ midsole works in tandem with the ASICS grip™ and WET GRIP RUBBER™ SPONGE outsole to provide increased responsiveness and traction.
Next is the METARISE volleyball shoe, designed to give players the ability to jump higher, move faster, and play safer. Aimed in particular at attacking players, the sneaker uses ASICS’ FLYTEFOAM™ Propel midsole technology along with the RISETRUSS™ winged midfoot support and a curved heel to provide more agility and an extra three percent lift when jumping, translating to almost two centimeters higher in the air.
Finally, rounding out the three-pack is the METASPRINT, a lightweight spikeless track shoe crafted for sprinters. A truly innovative design, the sneaker drops the spikes and instead uses a honeycomb carbon fiber outsole that enhances traction and without obstructing your stride. Its STRETCH HL-O™ mesh seamless upper gives you a lightweight and comfortable fit, with increased stability via the company’s DYNAWRAP™ supportive panels in the midsole.
For those interested, the METARACER, METARISE and METASPRINT will be available globally June 26, June 12, and April 17 respectively going for €200 to €300 EUR (approximately $220 – $330 USD).
