Rainmaker Kyoto FW20 Reinterprets Japanese Garments as Sartorial Staples
From tailored suits to loose layers.
After unveiling its Fall/Winter 2019 collection lookbook last August, Rising Japanese brand Rainmaker Kyoto is furthering its Japanese-meets-Western fashion landscape with its FW20 collection. Staying true to its artisanal blend of traditional Japanese garments and more contemporary sartorial sensibilities, Rainmaker Kyoto’s latest range continues to push elegant layers alongside wardrobe staples that highlight the brand’s glocal underpinnings.
Offered up in subdued earthy tones, the various pieces can be interchanged between different looks with ease. In the collection, pieces like peacoats and tapered trousers intermingle alongside haori and kimono-styled staples. Visual flair comes into play in the form of various patterned textiles, such as a coat featuring double-sided arrows, as well as a fleece jacket offered up in houndstooth plaid. All looks have been finished with a pair of business-casual footwear offerings, which could be easily swapped for a clean pair of sneakers to suit a more casual outing.
Take a detailed look at Rainmaker Kyoto’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection via the lookbook above. Pieces will arrive on the brand’s webstore later this year.
