Rainmaker Kyoto has just unveiled its Fall/Winter 2019 collection lookbook, further cementing its dedication to merging Japanese and Western design languages into stylized pieces. True to its past collections, Rainmaker Kyoto continues to experiment with layering, pushing wardrobe staples like peacoats and trousers beyond suiting by pairing them with elongated shirting and all-weather jackets.
Each piece in the collection can be styled effortlessly with the rest, but standout items include sweaters with chunky cable knit sleeves, overcoats covered in enlarged plaid prints, trousers with exposed zippers running up the front, work pants with an exaggerated elastic waistband and various draped kimonos. Colors remain in the neutral zone except for a few bold pieces sporting electric blue, purple and red. In addition to more classic prints like stripes and plaid, a few pieces in the range feature butterfly motifs, including a cross-body bag. Each look is paired with dress shoes that could easily be swapped out with sneakers for a more casual fit.
