PORTER's New "CRAG" Capsule Breathes Life Into Old Military Silhouettes
Made with a sustainable dyeing process.
PORTER is back with a brand new set of bags for Spring/Summer 2020. The Japanese label has unveiled its “PORTER CRAG” capsule, inspired by old military-inspired silhouettes made up of rustic cotton fabrics. Featured in the lineup are a backpack, satchel, messenger bag and tote bag.
Each bag comes in either black and olive colorways, dyed sustainably with traditional techniques in Kurashiki, Okayama in Japan. One noteworthy piece is the olive knapsack that boasts contrasting brown panels. Starting at the top of the silhouette is an oxidized metal clasp that joins the upper flap to the main body. Placed directly below is a small zipper opening for a small pocket, complemented by a single flap pocket at the front. As a final note, the bag sports twin side pockets and a suede bottom that’s been reinforced with triangular top-stitching.
Another highlight is a black satchel. It comes with reinforced handles, detachable shoulder straps and a wide, spacious frame. Contrasting silver-toned hardware is placed at the main opening at the top and at two pockets at the front. Long flap packets are placed below the zippers, while a subtle “PORTER” patch logo appears at the bottom left corner as the finishing touch. Other pieces like the shoulder bags and tote bags round up the concise assemblage.
The “PORTER CRAG” capsule is currently available on the label’s website, ranging from $222 – $505 USD.
