Mizuno Unveils Sleek Black Mondo Control "MTXIX" With Customizable Side Stripes
In collaboration with New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka.

Mizuno is back with a brand new iteration of its Mondo Control. This time around, the Japanese label has collaborated with Masahiro Tanaka, a pitcher for the New York Yankees, decorating the shoe with a set of customizable DIY embellishments.
Boasting sleek black uppers, the sneaker is made up of a series of mesh, leather and rubber materials that offer a comfortable form-fitting build while enhancing support and durability. The sneakers sport a soft neoprene tongue, complemented by tonal laces and black leather eyelet panels. “Mizuno” branding is placed at the lateral sides of the forefoot, juxtaposed with breathable mesh fabrics at the toebox. Furthermore, the shoe comes with velcro-lined side stripes that allow the wearer to alternate between purple, yellow, red and pink-colored Mizuno logos. As a final note, the heel is embroidered with a tiny image of Masahiro Tanaka on the right foot and “MTXIX” on the left.
The Masahiro Tanaka x Mizuno Mondo Control MTXIX will be available on April 25 on Mita Sneakers’ website for $193 USD.
