Mac Miller‘s breakout mixtape K.I.D.S. is now available on streaming services almost a decade after its release.
The mixtape’s arrival (minus “Traffic in the Sky” and “La La La”) on digital streaming platforms comes eight months after Benjy Grinberg, founder of Rostrum Records, first announced the news on Instagram. He initially confirmed a late 2019 release for the mixtape, however, fans of the late rapper are still thankful. “After Macadelic came out, Mac asked if we could clear this one next. It has been challenging but we are getting through it,” Grinberg originally wrote in an Instagram post from August 2019. “We miss Mac every day and we see our job as making sure his music lives on. We love you, Mac.”
To celebrate the release of K.I.D.S. on streaming services, his music video for “Don’t Mind If I Do” (a track that samples Owl City’s “Fireflies”) was also uploaded on YouTube in HD.
K.I.D.S. (Kickin’ Incredibly Dope Sh*t) dropped in August 2010 and shot Miller to stardom, with tracks like “Nikes on My Feet” and “Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza” eventually becoming some of the Pittsburgh rapper’s most beloved songs. The mixtape’s popularity also helped his “Incredibly Dope Tour” in 2011 — the first in his career — sell out all the locations.
