adidas‘ rollout of Japanese exclusives continues as the sportswear giant preps special suits informed by the Isetan malls’ sartorial savvy. Dubbed the “M Icon” series, the four-piece partnership engenders clever use of technology to create travel-ready tailoring.
The adidas Icon suit series for Isetan actually began in 2016, with Spring/Summer 2020 representing the final iteration of the collaboration. Offered in neutral black and navy, the blazer and pants sets are crafted with function and comfort in mind. Modeled by professional kayaker and adidas team member Takuya Haneda, the suits boast adidas’ Aerodry tech for breathable, weather-resistant versatility.
This iteration of the Aerodry textile is also wrinkle-fighting, allowing for easy storage during travel, with a seersucker-like finish that encourages air flow. Other notable details include subtle Three Stripe branding, zippered, convertible pockets and two-button blazer closure.
Meanwhile, Isetan Shinjuku recently announced a forthcoming Tom Sachs “Retail Experience.”
