atmos and adidas Originals have teamed up for a new NMD R1 “Triple Red.” Combining a vivid monochromatic hue with bold text branding, this cardinal-colored adidas lifestyle sneaker is a blast from the recent past, seemingly nodding to 2015 in palette and silhouette alike.

Uppers are made of a thin, tightly woven red mesh. A wide variety of black text branding is splashed across the toebox and lateral forefoot, ranging from a large adidas text hit and Trefoil graphic to “The Brand with the Three Stripes” spelled out in four different languages.

From the midfoot’s Three Stripe graphic to the heel’s plastic overlay and tongue branding, the rest of the upper’s standard accents retain the same vivid red hue as the mesh base. Down below, a full-foot Boost midsole with layered forefoot and heel bricks finalizes the look.

This isn’t the first time atmos and adidas have modernized classic makeups of the R1. 2019 saw a text-equipped take on the NMD’s very first colorway, while a duo of snakeskin print styles released in 2018.

The atmos x adidas NMD R1 “Triple Red” is set to release via the atmos webstore on April 18, and retails for a tax-included price of ¥16,000 JPY (approximately $149 USD).
