Vault by Vans OG Sid LX Arrives in Wild & Mild Styles
“Leopard,” “Blue” & “Black” takes on the classic skate sneaker.

As part of its latest Vault By Vans collection, Vans has released three new styles of the OG Sid LX. Arriving in “Leopard,” “Blue” and “Black,” this trifecta runs the gamut from wild to mild — all while featuring the true-to-the-original construction and original detailing that Vault aficionados crave.
Originally produced in the USA during the ’90s, the Sid became popular among skateboarders due to the durability provided by its thick vulcanized soles and durable canvas uppers. Both of these key pieces are left untouched here, and each shoe also features Vans’ Flying V logo in place of the now-ubiquitous Jazz Stripe that graces models like the Old Skool and Sk8-Hi.
“Leopard” dresses its upper in a wild animal print, using black suede on the quarter, eyestays and heel plus white eyelets and contrast stitching. Meanwhile, “Blue” and “Black” each opt for a single-colored upper, providing a more tame alternative to their bold brethren. Each pair retains white contrast stitching, but “Blue” and “Black” opt for a flat steel gray on the eyelets instead of the white used by the “Leopard.” All three pairs are completed by thick white vulcanized midsoles with a duo of black foxing stripes.
These in-line styles follow up a fruitful — if sporadic — run of collaborations for the OG Sid LX: it was the centerpiece of a Supreme capsule in 2018, and was re-worked by Pass~Port and BILLY’s Tokyo alike in 2019.
The Vault by Vans OG Sid LX “Leopard,” “Blue” and “Black” are all available now at Vault stockists like SSENSE, and retail for $85 USD.
