Pharrell and adidas Originals boast one of the most prolific partnerships in the world of athletic footwear, and now the powerful pair have readied a SS20 collection. Centered around a new model dubbed the 0 to 60 STMT but also providing familiar styles like the Solar Hu Glide and timeless silhouettes like the Stan Smith, Nizza Hi and Continental 80, the collection is multifaceted and unique, just like Skateboard P himself.

Based off the Crazy BYW 2.0, the 0 to 60 STMT — which may be short for “statement” — is a high-cut design that looks like a cross between a motorcycle shoe and a boxing boot. Uppers feature a warm-weather ready mix of yellow, blue and green shades, all of which blend and fade together in abstract fashion. A Three Stripes graphic trimmed with orange embroidery swoops across the midfoot, and is interrupted by an asymmetrical zipper which works with a collar strap to provide lockdown. Crazy BYW-style suede overlays in light yellow and cool grey sit over the forefoot, midfoot and heel, with a small Hu branded hit appearing on the collar strap. Midsoles are all Crazy BYW 2.0, with podular BOOST cushioning ensconced in nude-toned rubber and accents provided by a grey/blue midfoot shank.

Apart from the 0 to 60 STMT, the Solar Hu Glide offers a vivid colorblocking scheme, melding a sky blue forefoot with an ocean blue midfoot and pastel shades on the eyestays, laces and tongue. Sport blue heel clips, white heels, HU branded tags and a dark navy blue/white BOOST midsole complete the look.

Last but not least, the Stan Smith, Nizza Hi and Continental 80 utilize supple cream leather uppers. A vast departure from Pharrell and the Three Stripes’ penchant for whimsical, vibrant designs, each proffers a refined, elegant look. This three-pack isn’t without its flourishes though: debossed Hu branding, colorful laces, and triangular perforations provide a wink and a nudge to Pharrell’s fun-loving nature.

The Pharrell x adidas Originals SS20 collection will release at retailers like Subtype and HBX on March 15, with prices ranging from $160-$285 AUD (approximately $106-$190 USD).

If you’re an old-school Pharrell fan, you’ll likely enjoy BAPE‘s 20th anniversary BAPESTA drops, which include memorable OG colorways.
