Nike has returned to its PhantomVSN 2 football boot for a new design inspired by one of the most celebrated boots from the brand’s recent history. Taking its cues from the Hypervenom, which arrived in 2013, the boot is decked out in a “Black/Bright Citrus” colorway complete with “Metallic Silver” accenting.
The new colorway also features a skull and crossbones graphic near the heel of the boot, another reference to the Hypervenom. This detail is designed to represent the wearer’s attacking on-pitch style. Additionally, the boot features added texture in areas of the boot needed for attacking play.
The boot is the first release from Nike Football’s all-new Future DNA series, which sees current Nike performance boots reworked to celebrate classic designs. The PhantomVSN 2 Future DNA Hypervenom is available now from the Nike web store.
In other sports news, Nike also recently released a new Mercurial Dream Speed for football’s fastest players.
