Following its brightly color-blocked rendition of the OG Sole Sneakers from last year, Maison Mihara Yasuhiro has unveiled a new iteration of the chunky silhouette. Coming in clean monochromatic “White” and “Black” colorways, in both low and hi-top molds, the sneakers are part of an upcoming capsule dubbed “MY Foot Products,” which also includes a set of ceramic mugs and socks.
Starting at the top of the shoe, a small “MMY” tab is stitched at the lateral side of the collars, complementing a larger “MMY” patch logo that’s placed at the center tip of the tongue. Covering the forefoot are thick flat white laces, looped through silver-toned eyelets, accentuating the silhouette’s exaggerated volume. Boasting textured canvas uppers, the words “MY Foot Products” are printed throughout the body of the shoe, forming a loosely checkered pattern — the same print is emboldened in large at the toecap.
Both the “White” and “Black” versions of each silhouette (low-top and high-top) features an alternating color scheme: “White” comes with black lettering and a black tongue; “Black,” white lettering and a white tongue. All of these details sit atop a broad wonky midsole that’s outlined by squiggly foxing, a quirky design concept that takes on the look of melted rubber. Other pieces in the capsule include ceramic mugs in white, red and black and monochromatic socks that have been etched with the aforementioned print.
Maison Mihara Yasuhiro’s OG Sole Sneakers from its “MY Foot Products” Capsule are currently available at the label’s website: $331 USD for the low-top and $353 for the hi-top.
