Maison Margiela Gives Replica Sneakers "Vintage Graffiti" Treatment
Launching for the first time by Mytheresa.

After reworking its iconic Future sneaker into a modern sandal form for the summer months ahead, Maison Margiela has teamed up with luxury online retailer Mytheresa to launch its men’s “Vintage Graffiti” sneakers. The exclusive pre-launch sees the French house’s beloved Replica silhouette, which was first shown in its Spring/Summer ‘99 presentation, revamped with a retro, graffiti-inspired design.
The one-of-a-kind Replica features handwritten inscriptions and illustrations in a playful, all-over print. French phrases such as “Mon Amie,” “Je t’aime” and “Je Pense” adorn the upper, along with drawings of arrows, zigzag designs and pound signs. The black ink and dark blue pen markings contrast with the sneaker’s muted white and gray upper, while white paint covers the rubber sole — continuing with the sneaker’s street art-inspired theme.
Retailing for €550 (approx. $605 USD), the “Vintage Graffiti” sneakers will release globally on April 1 for a full month on Mytheresa’s website.
