Sugarhill Modernizes Vintage Americana & Workwear for FW20
Tweaking heritage silhouettes.
Following its Fall/Winter 2019 showcase from back in July, Sugarhill has just unveiled its Fall/Winter 2020 lookbook, highlighting an expansive lineup of vintage Americana and workwear-inspired garments.
The collection is made up of a series of motorcycle jackets, overalls, puffer jackets, duffle coats, mohair sweaters, cropped trousers and varsity jackets, to name a few. Garments like the oversized houndstooth duffle coat and checkered trench coat present a modernized approach to crafting traditional silhouettes, while pieces like the tie-dyed jacket and mohair sweater offer a slight ’70s accent to the collection.
One noteworthy piece is a baggy pair of overalls, coming in high oz. unwashed denim. The piece sees contrasting orange top-stitching, complemented by silver-toned hardware — nine buttons along the central closure, rivets at the reinforced knee panels and metallic belt buckles at the shoulders. Other pieces like the velvet western souvenir, striped trousers, acid-dyed pants and graphic tees round up the assemblage.
