Shortly after presenting its glam rock-inspired FW20 collection at Paris Fashion Week, Rick Owens is back with a new bold piece that riffs off irrevent rock sensibilities. Featured is an opulent Beach Parka that’s been embellished with shiny gold sequin.
The piece sees a boxy, elongated fit that ends at the knees and comes with an oversized hood as well as extended cuffs. While the piece is glossed all over in a vivid material, the parka also comes with some nuanced details. Thin red fabrics appear along certain areas of the piece, like at the edges of the hood and the shoulders, outlining the seams to frame the silhouette with some visual structure. Another subtle detail is the central closure that comes with silver-toned snap buttons — it boasts a long yellow ripstop strap that blends in neatly with the gold sequin. As a final note, the parka includes a smooth gray satin lining, offering extra comfort to the wearer for its delicate texture.
