Nike‘s Air Max 720 is a space-age silhouette in sobriquet and style alike, and now it’s surfaced in a rocket flight-ready “Summit White” colorway. Complete with rich gradients and a new nylon upper, this lifestyle-geared Air Max does a masterful job of playing up its key design points.
Ever-so-light grey nylon uppers are both textured and patterned, with the former arriving by way of the 720’s standard debossed detailing while the latter is provided by a gridded print that runs from heel to toe. Abstract-shaped overlays feature metallic gold, orange and blue hues, and contain standard sporty mesh within their borders. Small pops of red appear on the small toebox Swoosh, branded tongue badge and the grey heel tab that ensures an easy on/easy off fit.
Although the upper is undeniably compelling, the midsole boasts the lion’s share of the details. Its bulbous Air Max cushioning unit and sizable plastic support clip use a bright metallic gold on the heel, but that fades out towards the forefoot — where it’s replaced with grey and purple tones. An opaque grey rubber outsole completes the look.
The Nike Air Max 720 “Summit White” is available now at retailers like Nike Japan for $180 USD.
