Los Angeles clothing imprint Real Bad Man has been churning out fun, tongue-in-cheek graphic releases for awhile now, tapping a bevy of hip-hop veterans to model psychedelic-inspired seasonal offerings for the brand’s high school yearbook-esque portraits. Now Real Bad Man returns with its first limited vinyl run for a compilation that pairs some of hip-hop’s most underrated voices with a crop of new artists on the cusp of truly breaking out. On High Alert Volume 1 is a five song collection out now via Tuff Kong Records.

Artist Matt Taylor worked alongside the Real Bad Man team for the new animated short compiling snippets of On High Alert. Roc Marciano stars in the intro track “C Beam Dreams.” Frequent collaborators Maxo and Pink Siifu are particular standouts, with a soulful vocal sample making for an addicting cut on “Tell.” Masta Ace and Kool Keith also make appearances.

On High Alert Volume 1 is available today in a standard black vinyl version limited to just 200 numbered copies. An alternate blue vinyl is also for sale complete with a die-cut sticker. Then there’s 50 white and blue stripe vinyls complete with a 24×35” poster and die-cut sticker available while supplies last. The compilation is the first of five total five-song offerings set to drop throughout 2020. Boldy James, Kool G Rap, Meyhem Lauren, Inspectah Deck and Cappadonna, Blu, ElCamino and Medhane highlight the upcoming roster.
