Justin Bieber Joins James Corden for 'Carpool Karaoke'
Choreographing ‘Yummy’ Tik-Tok dances and talking Tom Cruise fight.
Justin Bieber‘s Changes is expected to debut No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after an initial projection has the record accumulating a total of anywhere from 270,000 to 320,000 equivalent album units. To celebrate, Bieber joined late night host extraordinaire James Corden for the latest episode of Carpool Karaoke.
The pop superstar sang a live rendition of his international hit “Yummy”, but unfortunately Corden didn’t handle the additional Summer Walker verse for the song’s remix. They did talk about aging out of social media platforms like TikTok and even planned a choreographed dance for the single before Justin criticized Corden’s ideas. James then asked about the reasoning behind Justin’s challenge to fight Tom Cruise via Twitter late last year.
“A choice you made last year, I found it perplexing. You challenged Tom Cruise to a fight. [Laughs] Why?” Corden asked at the video’s midway point.
“I don’t know, I was just being stupid to be honest. Not stupid, but then people were like, ‘yea I wanna see this happen’ and I was like, ‘you know what? That could actually be funny. I would’ve done it,” Bieber responded.
“That wouldn’t have been much fun for you,” Corden continued. “I’ve gotta say… I think if you and me have a fight, you’d win. I think if you and Tom Cruise have a fight, I back Tom every day of the week. Every day of the week.”
“I’m trying to not let my ego get in the way, but there’s absolutely no way. He’s not the guy you see in the movies. He’s not. That’s a character. Phenomenal shape doesn’t mean you’re a good fighter. See I start to get frustrated because you’re really boiling me up man. I’m gonna f*ckin’ fight you, bro,” Justin then reached over and playfully grabbed Corden by the shirt collar. They settled the dispute with an arm wrestle.
Bieber also talked about binge-watching Friends, sings character Phoebe’s iconic “Smelly Cat” song from the show and reveals more at-home activities with wife Hailey Bieber.
