Last month, Jordan Brand unveiled a monochromatic 6 Rings inspired by the Air Jordan 11 from 2006’s DMP pack. Now, the American footwear giant has opted for a crisp new UNC spin on the classic model, embellished with cleanly polished patent Carolina Blue accents — Jordan 6 Rings “UNC.”

Starting at the top of the shoe, Jordan Brand’s iconic Jumpman logo is embroidered at the tongue over a supple fleece-lined patch. Below it, “TWO3” branding is etched along the forefoot, complemented by an additional logo just under the throat line. The back of the shoe sees a sturdy rubber heel pull, juxtaposed by thin velcro straps that allow the wearer to adjust the snugness of the shoe’s fit. Highlighted across the body is a stark contrast between the fresh white mesh uppers and the “Valor Blue” patent leather that glosses the mudguards. All of these features sit atop an angular midsole, while nuanced details like perforations at the lower half of the shoe and a hidden patch inside the tongue that references the years of ‘96 – ‘98 round-up the sneaker’s bold design.

The Jordan 6 Rings “UNC” is currently available on Nike’s website and select retailers for $170 USD.
