Joji has dropped off his first release of 2020, “Run.” Billed as the lead single off his highly-anticipated, second full-length studio album, this haunting rock power ballad showcases the 88rising mainstay’s extraordinary range and continuous commitment to the elegiac sound he’s known for.
The Japanese-Australian artist also shared an accompanying music video for “Run,” directed by Aisultan Seitov, that sees a lovesick Joji attempting to escape a labyrinthian stretch limousine that’s filled with superficial people, loud music and champagne. The never-ending car interior explores “the inextricable claustrophobia of celebrity,” and ends with Joji waking up alone in a spaceship-looking abode.
