Givenchy Unveils New Spectre Sneaker
The technical style is inspired by running and hiking footwear.
As part of its SS20 line, Givenchy has presented a new sneaker silhouette dubbed the Spectre. With an ultra-high cut and technical details, the design is inspired in part by running and hiking footwear, and is presented in a bold black palette dubbed “Shiny Nylon.”
Reaching well above the ankle and up onto the shin, the towering upper is constructed of a high-gloss black nylon, in line with its moniker. This sport-geared build is amplified further by a tonal grid pattern, fused black mudguard on the toe and a dashing zipper that ensures easy foot entry and removal.
Bold fabric straps with silver buckles and rubberized badges wrap around the top of the collar and flecked laces do the same down below, held in place by standard eyestay systems plus heel tabs. Small Givenchy branded tags on the lateral midfoot contrast the collar’s accents, and a beefy-but-not-bulky black rubber midsole and outsole finalize the stylings.
