Shortly after unveiling its jazz-tinged Fall/Winter 2020 lookbook, Engineered Garments has introduced yet another eclectic project to this year’s slate, this time in the form of a special five-piece capsule with English heritage label Barbour — this marks the fourth collaboration between the two entities.
Spanning a set of jackets, a parka, an anorak and a blazer, each piece in the lineup has been treated with a special wash that offers a distinctive vintage texture. One standout garment is the Highland Parka. It comes with an elongated fishtail construction, featuring two welt pockets at the upper chest and button-flap waist compartments. Small leather tabs appear at the adjustable drawstrings at the hood and rear fishtail, while oxidized metal hardware at the central closure and cuffs round up the details of the piece.
Another highlight is the four-button blazer, coming with large lapels that can be flipped in so the wearer can button up the garment all the way to the neck. It sees a small chest pocket, a small pouch around the torso and two button-flap compartments at the waist. Apart from its brass button snaps, the piece also comes with extra panels at the elbows and cuffs for added reinforcement. Other sartorial pieces in the range like the Cowen, Upland and Warby jackets finish off the concise assemblage.
The Engineered Garments x Barbour SS20 capsule is currently available at Nepenthes’ physical store in Aoyama, Tokyo, ranging from $478 – $600 USD.
