Last week, Matthew M Williams’ 1017 ALYX 9SM unveiled a pair of sleek black leather slides that were treated with a lavish buffed finish. Now, the label has introduced another new easy-wearing footwear silhouette for Spring/Summer 2020, coming in two bold designs — Leather Clogs in “Croc” and “Patent.”
The former boasts a textured croc pattern that begins at the rear with tiny scales that expand and get smoothened out towards the forefoot. “1017 ALYX 9SM” is subtly debossed at the frontmost section of the collars, near the edge of the leather slip-on entry. The clogs’ articulated uppers sit above a thick cream-colored Vibram sole that comes with a large contrasting white EVA insert at the heel. As a final touch, a slight gradient accent appears at the footbridge, accentuating the gently curved shape of the silhouette.
The “Patent” iteration takes on a more minimal aesthetic. It comes with the same build as the aforementioned pair, but its shiny patent finish gives it a distinctive textural contrast between the uppers and midsole. Rounding up the details, shiny treatments appear along the EVA rear and footbridge, matching the glossy sheen of the uppers for a luxe look and feel.
The 1017 ALYX 9SM Leather Clogs in “Croc” and “Patent” are currently available at SSENSE’s website for $845 and $765, respectively.
