Fluevog and Viberg Unite on Racer Boot Ideal for Canada's Crisp Autumn Weather
A mature twist on boxer footwear.

As Canadian footwear legends Viberg and Fluevog gear up to celebrate their 90th and 50th anniversaries, respectively, the duo have united on a special pair of boots that commemorates their complementary heritage. The Racer is a slick update to a classic boxer’s boot, channeling the playful nature of Fluevog and detail-oriented workmanship of Viberg in equal parts.
Made by hand in Canada, the Racer boot swaps the nylon uppers of boxer footwear for lavish black and Colour 8 Chromexcel leather sourced from Chicago’s iconic Horween tannery, retaining the silhouette’s swirling shapes without sacrificing the inherent rugged appeal of a sturdy pair of boots. Subtle details abound, including the vintage brass utilized for four speed hooks, Viberg’s signature channeled insole Goodyear welt and two pairs of laces: a versatile black pair that represents Viberg and a chunky turqoise set for Fluevog.
Shoe trees, shoe cream and a co-signed card of authenticity come with each pre-ordered Racer boot, mirroring the stamped insignia that graces the rear of each boot’s lateral side. Further underscoring the special nature of the collaboration, both brands are donating 10% of the boot sales to the British Columbia Parks Foundation to support the vivacity of their gorgeous environment.

While heritage brands channel hands-on leather craft, luxury labels look towards rubber footwear, as evidenced by Balenciaga’s Excavator rain boot and Gucci’s shearling wellington.
