TikTok Signs Licensing Agreement With Sony Music
Allowing creators to use the music company’s catalog of songs.

TikTok this morning announced that it had signed a licensing agreement with Sony Music Entertainment that will allow its creators to continue to use artists from the music company’s catalog of songs.
The short-form video app — that recently had an attempt from the Trump Administration to outlaw interactions on the app rejected — will also partner more closely with Sony artists to promote new releases.
While specifics were not detailed, TikTok did advise that this new agreement will give its creator community access to sound clips from Sony Music’s arsenal of current hits, new releases, classics and more.
TikTok also announced that it would be working with Sony to support “greater levels of TikTok user personalisation and creativity” and “drive new and forward-looking opportunities for fan engagement with SME’s artists and music.”
