A Look Inside Extra Butter's New Queens-Based Store
The label’s second New York City location.

Renowned New York-based boutique Extra Butter has opened its second store in the city, this time in Long Island City, Queens.
Given the brand’s affinity for the arts, this new location takes space within the PS1 building, adjacent to the Museum of Modern Art. The aesthetics of the 3,000 square foot shop are true to the DNA of Extra Butter: clean minimal interiors; a movie theatre with 12 vintage seats and cinema quality projector and sound; and an activation space to host art exhibits and pop-up events.
“Most of us who have been with the brand since day one grew up in Queens, the world’s borough, so this is like a homecoming,” says co-founder, Ankur Amin. “My brother Nick and I started working at my uncle’s sneaker store on Queens Blvd back in the 80’s and to now bring Extra Butter to Queens almost 40 years later is an important milestone for us.”
The new Queens-based Extra Butter store is open now, but you can also shop the brand’s latest collection via its online store.
In other news, the OVO x ROOTS FW20 collection takes us back to the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics.
