Sony Reportedly Set To Buy Crunchyroll for More Than $957M USD
Following acquisition rumors earlier this year.

According to reports, Sony is reportedly in the final round of negotiations to buy Crunchyroll. Reports continue to note that the deal could cost the Tokyo-based electronics company over ¥100 billion JPY ($957 million USD).
News of the acquisition comes after Sony Pictures Television acquired Funimation with a 95 percent controlling stake in the anime-streaming service 2017. For years now, Sony has been licensing its anime properties to streaming service, making the move to purchase Crunchyroll something that could seriously shake up the streaming landscape.
Founded back in 2006, AT&T owned Crunchyroll has 70 million concurrent free members and three million subscribers to stand as the leading anime streaming site.
