Featuring a playful riff on Champion’s branding.
Yuta Hosokawa’s READYMADE is known for its lighthearted riffs on pop culture, a motif that rings true for the Japanese brand’s first FW20 delivery at HBX. Comprising soft sweats and branded tees, the collection swaps the upcycled army textiles for cozy woven cottons.
An olive green sweatsuit is the drop’s standout piece, featuring a relaxed hoodie and pants emblazoned with READYMADE branding stylized to imitate two Champion logos: the script logo and “C” patch. Here, they’re revamped as “READYMADE” and a smiling critter, the sole graphic accents on the versatile loungewear.
A set of pale three-pack socks reinforces the comfortable aesthetic, while a white T-shirt is realized with more READYMADE verbiage and a graffiti’d smiley face that now sports a mustache and “L.H.O.O.Q.” (presumably a nod to Duchamp). On the rear, black bubble letters reading “Destruction is also creation.”
