Watch the Official Trailer for Regina King’s Drama Film ‘One Night in Miami’
Critics are already anticipating an Oscar nomination.
Regina King’s drama film One Night in Miami’s official trailer is out now.
The film centers around Malcolm X, Jim Brown, Sam Cooke and Cassius Clay, also known as Muhammad Ali, when the gang gathered together one night to celebrate Clay’s win against Sonny Liston in Miami in 1964. While no one really knows exactly what went down that night, the movie tells a fictionalized story of the event that critics are already considering Oscar-nomination-worthy.
Amazon offered a brief synopsis: “On one incredible night in 1964, four icons of sports, music, and activism gathered to celebrate one of the biggest upsets in boxing history […] The film looks at the struggles these men faced and the vital role they each played in the civil rights movement and cultural upheaval of the 1960s. More than 40 years later, their conversations on racial injustice, religion, and personal responsibility still resonate.”
