LEGO Unveils 2,352-Piece 'Ghostbusters' ECTO-1™ Kit

LEGO has teamed up with Ghostbusters for a 2,352-piece model of the ECTO-1™. The figure is etched with authentic details of the heavily modified 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance to return in the upcoming movie Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Most of the ECTO-1™ is decorated in red and white, complemented by tiny blue and yellow accents. The car comes with a moving ghost sniffer, a working steering wheel, an extendable rear gunner seat and a plethora of other paranormal detection equipment on the roof rack. LEGO has introduced two new LEGO brick elements with this set as well: a 6×14 curved windshield and a new five-module steering wheel.

Finishing off the vehicle’s design is a tiny Ghostbusters logo emblazoned on the passenger and driver door. LEGO designer Michael Psiaki noted how this version of the Ectomobile has been the most detailed yet, “I love creating LEGO vehicles, and having previously designed the LEGO James Bond Aston Martin DB5, I loved the challenge of working on the ECTO-1. This is the largest and most detailed version of this car that we have ever created. It is crammed full of authentic features and easter eggs that I’m excited for builders to discover as they put this model together.”

LEGO’s Ghostbusters ECTO-1™ will be available on November 15, ahead of the upcoming movie, on LEGO’s website — prices have yet to be confirmed.
