EXCLUSIVE: Common Projects Announces First-Ever Archive Sale
The minimalist footwear label is discounting over 600 samples and rare pairs.
Common Projects‘ minimalist footwear has been almost unfailingly since the brand’s debut in 2004; the low-key brand’s Achilles Low sneaker, Derby Shine and Chelsea Boot are no less covetable than when they each launched over the brand’s sixteen-year history. For the first time in that history, however, Common Projects is going to initiate something unprecedented: a far-reaching archive sale that encompasses over 600 pairs of rare and sample shoes.
Former V Magazine art director Peter Poopat and consultant Flavio Girolami formed Common Projects out of a desire to create aesthetically pleasing footwear that they couldn’t find on the market already. “We didn’t want to wear Converse anymore,” Girolami told The Business of Fashion in 2014. “We try to do something that is classic and timeless.”
Sample silhouettes and old favorites crafted over the past six years will be on hand at this debut archive sale, including a variety of one-off designs that never actually made it into production. Textiles like plush suede, pebbled leather and slick grain leather grace the lace-up kicks, casual slip-ons and sophisticated winter-ready boots that one can expect to see at the sale, all made in Italy to Common Projects’ exacting standards.
The Common Projects archive sale goes live on this page November 27 at 10 a.m. EST and runs until December 1.
