Releasing a making-of clip for the episode.
Just a week ago, animated sensation South Park aired its highly-anticipated Pandemic Special on Comedy Central. The reviews are now in, and the special episode was recorded as the highest-rated episode of the series in the past seven years.
“We’re thrilled with South Park‘s return and it’s clear the audience was as well,” ViacomCBS president of entertainment and youth brands Chris McCarthy said in regards to the new special and the upcoming 24th season. “The success is a testament to Matt and Trey’s creative genius and how we used our full portfolio to let everyone know it’s back — propelling it to the No. 1 scripted telecast of 2020 and delivering its highest ratings in seven years.”
For those who have yet to watch it, South Park: The Pandemic Special follows Randy as he deals with his new role during the COVID-19 outbreak while the rest of the town’s citizens adjust to the ongoing pandemic. Stan, Cartman, Kyle and Kenny all return to school but find that nothing is the way it used to be anymore, including Cartman himself.
