Sunset Rollercoaster Enlists OHHYUK for Soothing New Single "Candlelight"
Set to appear on the Taiwanese soul-psych outfit’s ‘Soft Storm.’
Sunset Rollercoaster and OHHYUK of HYUKOH have teamed up to deliver the new single, “Candlelight.”
Clocking in at a little over three minutes, the track opens with plucked guitars and builds with synths and pulsating chords. The simmering cut is propelled forward with the entrance of the percussion and moving vocals of OHHYUK and Sunset Rollercoaster frontman Kuo Kuo, representing the meeting points of the booming music industries of South Korea and Taiwan. The accompanying visual, directed by DQM, is a stunning piece that incorporates elements of Taiwanese culture and art and serves as a reminder not to take anything for granted.
“OHHYUK has a unique and emotional voice, it’s great that we can work on the song ‘Candlelight’ together, it’s a song about memories. OHHYUK made it colorful,” the band said. OHHYUK added, “I really like Sunset Rollercoaster’s music and enjoy listening to their songs often. So, it felt great to take part in a new song by the band. I had a pleasant time and I hope people will enjoy listening to the track.”
“Candlelight” is set to appear on Sunset Rollercoaster’s forthcoming concept album Soft Storm, which will narrate how a huge storm affects several individuals in an unnamed city.
