Patta and Vans Vault Celebrate Rude Boy Culture for FW20
Dropping on October 30.
Amsterdam-based imprint Patta has reunited with Vans Vault for Fall/Winter 2020 to rework the latter’s classic Chukka 79 VLT LX and Style 36 VLT LX sneakers, drawing on influences from British-Jamaican rude boy culture.
This latest release caps off a busy month for Patta after dropping collaborations alongside the likes of Levi’s and NR Ennerre, with more expected in the near future.
The Chukka 79 VLT LX has been given a makeover with a riff on the colors of the Rastafari flag, while the Style 36 TC VLT LX arrives in a “Spectrum Blue” colorway that nods to the Union Jack. The phrase “OUT IN THE STREETS” sits on the outsole and serves as an homage to reggae artist Ini Kamoze, while also alluding to manning the barricades, protest and counterculture.

Both silhouettes arrive in ballistic nylon with premium suede details, accompanied with white contrast stitching and black leather lining, while Patta’s branding can be found wrapped around the heel.
The Patta x Vans Chukka 79 VLT LX and Style 36 VLT LX will be available in limited quantities through the Patta app on October 30, while a full release will drop on October 31 via the Patta webstore.
