Comprising “Desert,” “Cargo Khaki,” and “Black” colorways, the AM90 “Surplus Pack” introduces a whole host of winter-ready components to the much loved classic Nike silhouette. For example, the uppers are far more durable thanks to a Tech Tuff mudguard (a seamless waterproof encapsulating membrane), as well as a Cordura blend that’s incorporated into the underlay and overlays.
The synthetic toe is reinforced for protection, while hidden inside pockets on the tongue make for small practical storage solutions. In addition to the rugged aesthetic, Nike has updated each pair’s sole unit with a lugged outsole that offers more traction than standard, and rounds out each pair with military-like elements such as tonal rope laces.
Each pair is finished with an accenting color: the “Desert” pair is highlighted with orange, the “Cargo Khaki” receives neon yellow, and the “Black” pair sports neon pink. The former two use color for details that line the toe box, while the latter simply sports a tiny neon pink mini swoosh on the front-quarter.
The Nike Air Max 90 “Surplus Pack” will drop on October 10 on Nike’s website, with each pair costing approximately $145 USD. Take a look at the Nike Air Max 90 “Surplus Pack” in the gallery above.
